Was messing around with my cougar profile today - reading through the documentation for EECH - noticed you could turn mouselook on and off...

That got me to thinking... CTL DEL issues this command... So I figured... I can use my Radar Cursors hat (the microstic) to move my view (since I have no TIR) and use them to move my FLIR...

How did I do this? I've been trying to figure out a solution for a while - since using the hats do not cut it - and in Falcon - you use the microstic to pan your Targeting Pod and Mavericks - I similarly do this in LOMAC for my Vikr targeting camera and the A10 Mavericks.

Well, it was simple... I changed my weapon cycling to the MSL Step button - a la falcon minus the pauses and then assigned S4 to be the magic button. Here is the statement for those curious:

/P mouse_shift /R mouse_shift

Pretty nifty! The /P and /R statements are for when you first press the button - and hold it... and the /R issues the CTL DEL key once again when you release the button - undoing the turn off mouselook command! Try it! Now I can free up my basic Hat 3 functions to do other things - thinking of changing the comms hat on the throttle to be the same as the DMS Hat in the F16 for managing my displays.

One sidenote - you may have to have a /O or /I before my statement above - provided you use the S4 button dual purpose dependent of weather S2 is pressed in or not. Hope this helps!

so could I just use that program to assign keys to my 4 extra keys on my sidewinder 2 force feedback or do I have to assign all the axis and everything?

You do not need to assign axis if you assigned axis in game-option.
